Born and raised in Kansas City, Dr. Kerstin Martin del Campo has always had a passion for animal care and a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of pets and people alike. After meeting her husband at the University of Missouri, she went on to graduate from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Kerstin began her career in private practice, spending three rewarding years in Virginia Beach before moving back to Athens, Georgia. It was there that she discovered her true passion for shelter medicine and high-volume spay/neuter surgery.
Her extensive experience includes serving as a medical director and shelter veterinarian across various shelters and organizations in the Southwest Florida region. Dr. Kerstin has developed a reputation for her expertise in high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries and her compassionate approach to both animal welfare and client care. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, collecting shells and feathers, attempting to paint, digging in the dirt, obsessing over her plants, and raising chickens & goats. She is the founder and fearless leader of SWFLSNS.
Dr. Ashley Gillett was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida, where her love for animals began at just four years old when she started riding horses. Her passion for veterinary medicine continued to grow throughout her childhood, and by the age of 16 she was working as a large animal veterinary technician, gaining hands-on experience that solidified her desire to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Gillett earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University in 2017. Although she initially considered a career in equine medicine, she quickly discovered her passion for small animal and shelter medicine after working at a humane society shortly after graduation. Since then, she has dedicated her career to High-Quality, High-Volume Spay/Neuter (HQHVSN) and shelter medicine, providing affordable, compassionate care while helping reduce pet overpopulation and improve animal welfare in the community.
Surgery is one of Dr. Gillett's favorite aspects of veterinary medicine. She has performed thousands of spay and neuter procedures throughout her career and enjoys a variety of soft tissue surgeries. She has also completed additional training in several orthopedic procedures, allowing her to expand the surgical services she provides.
Dr. Gillett is committed to making quality veterinary care accessible to as many pets and families as possible. She believes that every animal deserves compassionate care and that spay and neuter programs play a vital role in creating healthier pets and stronger communities.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Gillett is married to her high school sweetheart, and together they have three children: Lacey, Brinley, and Lane. She continues to compete with her horses, Junior, Salty, and Ruby, in mounted shooting and ranch horse events. When she isn't in the operating room or at the barn, she enjoys camping and spending time outdoors with her family.
